Three Olympic participations, three World Cup victories and six other podium finishes adorn the palmares of the native Dutchwoman, who has lived in Switzerland since she was 5 years old. Rumour has it that she used to hike with her family in the Swiss mountains because of the good air. Since spring 2022, Laurien has ended her active sports career and is in transition to a career after her sports career. She found her current position at Zurich Switzerland as Key Account Manager in the Partnerships division through Athletes Network.
