Continuing Education Programs: CAS and DAS

Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) and Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS) programs are compact, practice-oriented, and perfect for athletes who want to specialize quickly without committing to a long-term degree program.

All CAS programs can be expanded into a DAS and further into a Master’s degree (MAS, MBA, EMBA).

Master’s Programs: MAS, MBA and EMBA

For athletes who require maximum flexibility, SIAL offers Master’s programs that integrate seamlessly into a sporting lifestyle. Students freely combine CAS or DAS programs until they reach a total of 45 credits (usually equivalent to around three CAS programs). They then deepen their expertise through a practice-oriented Master’s thesis that brings together the competencies they have acquired.

When and where do the courses take place?

All courses are conducted fully online in flexible self-study format. Athletes gain access to a modern learning platform and decide themselves when and where they study. At the same time, they benefit from individualized support through personal coaching sessions with lecturers.

What qualification will you receive?

Depending on the program, you will receive a SIAL diploma and/or a diploma from one of its partner institutions such as SIB or Middlesex University London.

How does the admission process work?

Advanced Business Diploma (HWD)

• Commercial background, ideally at least at the level of a commercial diploma or certified commercial employee

Postgraduate Course (NDK)

• Tertiary-level qualification or an equivalent degree (HF diploma, federal professional certificate, federal diploma, or university degree)
• Depending on the specific NDK, subject-related prior knowledge may be required

Postgraduate Study (NDS)

• Federal professional certificate, or
• Federal diploma (Higher Professional Examination), or
• Diploma from a Higher Technical College plus at least two years of professional experience in a responsible position.

CAS / DAS / MAS / MBA / EMBA

• Completed university degree from an accredited Swiss institution or an equivalent recognized foreign university, university of applied sciences, or university of teacher education.
• At least two years of professional responsibility and/or leadership experience.

EMBA Middlesex

• Academic degree (or EQF Level 6–8 qualification) and at least five years of professional experience (specialist or leadership role, minimum 80% full-time equivalent), or
• University entrance qualification (or equivalent) and at least seven years of professional experience, or
• Completed apprenticeship/vocational training and at least nine years of relevant professional experience.

Exceptional Admission (sur dossier):

Even if the formal requirements are not fully met, each application is carefully and individually reviewed by the program management. This gives committed athletes the opportunity to demonstrate their potential and gain admission to the program.
